IP Elro Hose Pumps
Advantages of IP Elro Patented Design

An additional channel in the patented hose acts as an air pump creating a vacuum in the casing housing the air hose. The hose is opened by this vacuum whereas in standard peristaltic pumps the hose is opened only by its own elasticity. This unique feature gives the pump the following additional advantages

Output remains constant on high suction lifts (almost to a perfect vacuum) as the hose does not partially collapse. Output remains constant for the life of the hose (Hose does not collapse as it wears). This is especially advantageous in metering applications where repetition is important. Hose is not damaged nor is capacity reduced by flat spots in the hose caused by rollers or slippers during periods of storage or prolonged shutdown as the hose is opened by a vacuum. The pump can be stored and is supplied in a completely assembled state As the casing is under vacuum, lubricant does not foam as can be the case with conventional peristaltic pumps at upper end of speed range. Any bubbles that form collapse under vacuum. This leads to superior lubrication and longer hose life. Dosing accuracy for the life of the hose almost irrespective of suction conditions is 1 to 2% Pump can be fitted with a hose failure warning device. When hose fails vacuum is lost in the housing which activates the alarm. This system can also be used as an early warning as in 90% of cases vacuum is lost several hours prior to final hose failure.


M Elro Hose Pumps

Like the IP Series the hose is opened by a vacuum created in the pump housing, however this vacuum is created by a different system allowing the use of a very thin walled hose. This hose is very easily flattened and due to the resultant lower friction can be run at far higher speeds, resulting in a very compact pump able to pump high flows with excellent suction and air handling capabilities.
